Keeping a frequency
A station is a promise about time. A blog that forgets this becomes a landfill with typography.
- radio
- attention
- desk
Radio taught me more about publishing than any CMS.
A live desk shares a station clock. Fixed rooms play start to finish. Vaults wait on demand. That is a theory of attention: some things are weather, some things are architecture, some things are a key you pick up later.
Most blogs treat every post as weather that never ends. The new one knocks the last one off the screen and we pretend that is a library.
I do not want a landfill with typography.
So the desk has three distances.
- Pinned. Work that should remain in the room even as the weeks move. Opening statements. The pieces I am still standing in.
- Current. The last handful of published notes, in the light.
- Archive. Everything else, quieter, fully searchable, not ashamed of being old.
If I pin too much, the room is a museum. If I pin nothing, the room is a feed. The discipline is the point.
You can still find the historical stuff. That is what the archive and the search are for. I am not hiding. I am curating the air.
